Follow me via Athlete Updates

19 Oct

If you’re interested in following my progress in Sunday’s IMT Des Moines Marathon, you can sign up to receive text message alerts on my progress. There is no cost for the service, although message and data rates may apply. The race begins Sunday at 8 a.m.

To sign up, click on this link.

Barb is running the half, and you can follow her by doing the same thing.

This will be my fifth time running in Des Moines. It will be my third full marathon there, and I have run the half twice. The organizers do a great job, it’s a nice course and the start/finish in downtown is very convenient. One of my favorite parts of the race is running one lap around the famous blue oval at Drake stadium, which falls at about the 12-mile mark for marathoners.

It’s probably not a destination race, but if you are looking for a good race in the Midwest, I’d recommend Des Moines.

For more on the Des Moines marathon, here’s the official website.

Thanks, Jacqueline. I’ve always liked DM, and it should be a great day.
